The Job:

3. Vacancy for professional social worker

 

Required profile:

The social worker will be required to work in the context of a multidisciplinary team of specialists on the following general framework:

 

Recruitment of a multidisciplinary team of specialists to work intensively
with the members of the personnel of the organisation
at both the residential and non residential settings
at Fondation pour l'enfance – Terre de Paix

Terms of reference

1. to constitute the team itself
2. to develop common understanding of the Terre de Paix project by each member of the team
3. to elaborate on assessment, analysis, action as regards to
a) existing services
b) future development particularly in the field of capacity building of the human resources through the optimal use of the resources
4. In line with number 3:
a) to document the best practices of different services
b) to highlight weaknesses
c) to make proposals and initiate actions
d) to facilitate evaluation through the design of an appropriate set of tools

Expected outcome

1) acquisition of the critical level of skills in terms of
a) understanding the child in distress in the context of the family and the community
b) better understanding the issue of behaviour problems
c) the use of the appropriate approaches, methods and tools in handling situations in the context of alternative care
2) the enhancement of an increased
a) level of work with parents including biological parents
b) participation of children at the level of activities
c) participation of parents
3) Enhancement of the personnel's self confidence and well being
4) production of the relevant documentation/publication as per number 4 of the terms of reference

Role of each specialist in the team

1. to be accountable to the Director

3. to harness all available human ressources in the process of optimising them
4. to produce documentation on an ongoing basis of Terre de Paix project in paralell with the specific project
5. to contemplate the extension of services or/and new avenues of services

Specific responsibilities and duties

With a view to achieve a better participation and appropriation of this work by the specialist persons, each specialist will be required to work out his own responsibilities and duties according to the roles described above

 

4. Vacancy for Social Educator / integrator

To be responsible to the director
Will be under the immediate supervision of the coordinator CED

In general to act as a facilitator at child’s, family and community levels for the overall development of the child through the following types of intervention:

The child:

To participate in the assessment of the child and contribute in the elaboration of the case plan of the child
To work in collaboration with other members of the team
To visit the child at home and other relevant places such as school
To provide guidance to the child in respect to education, health and nutrition, relations with parents
To devote quality time to the child at home
To keep records of work done

The family:
To establish the necessary relation with the family and ensure its workability
To visit the family at regular intervals
To provide guidance to the family on relevant issues
To keep records of work done

The community
To work with other community organizations in the furtherance of the duties above.

Hours of work:

Flexi-time mode of 40 hours per week
Clients’ needs-based hours of work

5. Vacancy for School attendant (preschool)


Generally, to be responsible for the overall cleanliness and tidiness inside the centre and other activity premises outside the centre

Specifically,
To keep the centre in clean and in good hygienic conditions at all times
To care for equipments and school materials at all times
To care for children in their toileting processes in the most respectful manner
To pay particular attention to wash basins, water closets, bath rooms
To provide aftercare services all through and after activities
To participate in the preparation of activities with children
To support the teaching staff as and when required

Is looking for resource persons in music, theatre, dance, creativity (preschool section) for its early childhood care and education unit

 

6. Vacancy for Nursery attendant


Generally, to be responsible for the overall cleanliness and tidiness inside the centre and other activity premises outside the centre

Specifically,
To keep the centre in clean and in good hygienic conditions at all times
To care for equipments and school materials at all times
To care for children in their toileting processes in the most respectful manner

7. Vacancy for gardener /handy person

Generally,
a. to be in charge of all cleanliness, tidiness and upkeep and embellishment of the premises of the centre d’eveil and
b. to be in charge of all maintenance of the building, equipments and materials of the centre d’eveil

Specifically,

1. planting of decorative plants, vegetables and other plants as required by the pedagogical program
2. watering of all plants and grass as and when required
3. sweeping of grounds
4. mowing of grass and trimming of plant hedges
5. cleaning, maintenance and embellishment of outside walls of the buildings and enclosure walls, doors and windows
6. maintain all the drainage systems
7. activate and maintain water pumps
8. maintain the electrical, plumbing, water and waste water systems indoor and out door
9. participate in planting and agricultural awareness activities with children

 

8. Vacancy for cook


Generally,

To be in charge of the preparation and service of nutritious and balanced food to children attending the CED and to perform all related aftercare services.

Specifically:

1. to keep the kitchen at all times in clean and hygienic conditions
2. to participate in the formulation of menus and purchase of ingredients and foodstuffs as and when required
3. to prepare food as directed through the menu list by persons in charge of the school
4. to dish out food to children
5. to help children at eating in support of other staff
6. to clean up materials, equipments, utensils after the food service

9. Vacancy for Carer, nursery


Accountable to the Director of Terre de Paix.

Duties:
Generally, to provide care and attention to children at the nursery section of the centre d’Eveil as per the agreed hours of work.

Specifically, to

1. plan and organise activities that are developmentally appropriate for children of nursery age
2. prepare appropriate feeds for children
3. ensure that children are at all times in a secure environment at the nursery
4. attend to all the basic needs of the child at the nursery including feeding, bathing, changing of nappies, peaceful sleep and rest, toilet training, play and any other appropriate activity
5. to follow procedures in the provision of care to children and to keep record of care given as and when required
6. report any abnormality to the officer-in-charge of the nursery
7. initiate action for parental involvement in specific nursery activities.
8. keep all necessary registers and records
9. keep nursery in appropriate hygienic condition as per sanitary regulations established by government.
10. provide special attention to children with special needs.
11. call at nursery as and when required for activities such as fund raising, organisation and decoration of nursery and attend workshops and seminars.

Hours of work:
Week days:7.30 hours-17.00 hours (assuming that all children have left)
Saturday: 7.30-noon

 

10. Vacancy for coordinator Centre d’Eveil et de Developpement du Jeune Enfant et des Parents

Accountable to the Director of Terre de Paix.

General responsibility:

To be responsible for the overall day to day administrative and pedagogical running of the services of the centre both as separate entities (preschool services and nursery services) and as a coordinated service delivery system in the field of early childhood care and education.
To report regularly on the activities of the centre to the Director of the organisation.

Specific duties:

To

1. plan, organize, supervise and evaluate activities that are developmentally appropriate for nursery and pre-school children.
2. be responsible for the organization / supervision and evaluation of the activities of the various services as established by the appropriate authorities and Fondation pour L’Enfance Terre de Paix.
3. coordinate, participate and conduct/supervise training including the production of the required teaching and caring aids as and when required,
4. establish, reinforce and enforce procedures for record of children, porfolio and keep them update.
5. plan, organize and supervise the implementation of a medico-social and an appropriate food and nutrition programme for children attending the centre
6. to initiate and provide prompt actions in connection with health and safety issues affecting the condition of children at the centre
7. initiate action including meetings and home visits for parental involvement in specific school activities and in the community in collaboration with co workers.
8. keep all registers and records as per Education Act and any other laws.
9. enforce measures to keep the learning environments of children in appropriate hygienic condition as per sanitary regulations established by the authorities.
10. to supervise the good maintenance of the centre and its premises
11. provide pastoral care to children
12. supervise the provision of special care and attention to children with special needs.
13. participate in the preparation of yearly, term, weekly and daily notes and plans of work.
14. As and when required, participate in activities such as fund raising, decoration of school environment and attend workshops and seminars.
15. to lead and be in charge of a team of educators, assistant-educators, carers, attendants, resource persons and any other personnel involved in the activities of the centre
16. assist in the organisation of special activities of Terre de Paix

Hours of work:
Arrival at 8.30 hours
Departure at 16.30 hours
A flexi-time mode will be worked out as per the exigencies of the service
